Terms of Service

Effective November 1, 2026 Cardamom: Private Offline Digital Wallet & Document Organizer

By installing, building, or using Cardamom, you acknowledge and agree to the following Terms of Service.

Open Source License & Software Grant

Cardamom is open-source software distributed under the Apache License, Version 2.0.

  • You are granted the right to install, execute, inspect, copy, modify, merge, and redistribute the application in compliance with the Apache 2.0 license terms.
  • The full source code is publicly available at https://github.com/shrivatsav-0/cardamom .

Self-Custody & User Responsibility

  • Local Sovereignty: Cardamom is a non-custodial, self-hosted offline utility. All data resides solely on your physical device.
  • Credential & Password Management: You are solely responsible for safeguarding your device PIN/pattern, biometric credentials, and custom backup passphrases.
  • No Remote Recovery: Because Cardamom maintains no remote infrastructure or administrative access, the developers cannot recover forgotten passphrases, decrypt local backup files, or restore deleted records.

Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, CARDAMOM IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

  • The developers do not warrant that optical character recognition (OCR) or barcode scanning will be 100% error-free on all physical media, lighting conditions, or damaged surfaces.
  • You are encouraged to verify extracted card numbers, expiry dates, and document details prior to official use.

Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS, CONTRIBUTORS, OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

Offline Software & Zero Fees

  • Cardamom requires no recurring subscription, paid account tier, or in-app microtransactions to access all features.
  • Cardamom does not engage in financial payment processing, fund transfers, or banking transactions. It functions strictly as an encrypted client-side viewer and organizer for your existing cards, passes, IDs, and certificates.
